Jean K Stephens offered a nice class this past fall, exploring colored pencil drawing techniques in a weekly classroom studio setting. Working from still life, her students focused on establishing strong compositions and rendering form in color. Stephens’ workshop ran the last seven Tuesdays since September 23rd. This longer workshop featured individual guidance, stimulating group critiques, and instructive demonstrations. Stephens is a talented artist and her class was a great addition to our fall course load. We have offered many great courses during the past few months including workshops dealing in encaustic wax paint, book binding, printmaking, and oils to name a few! We are excited that our fall classes are nearing completion fairly shortly because that means we have indeed successfully creating yet another season of artist classes! Thank you to all those who have attended our Fall workshops thus far.
Our last class will be with talented artist, Sari Gaby, called Painting Skin Tones in Oil. It will run this November 6th where students will learn to mix and match each other’s skin tones for oil portraits. It should be an exciting final workshop to say the least! We hope the students registered for the class are as thrilled as we are!
