Painting the Forest Before the Trees with Matt Klos
This workshop is designed for painters who desire some fresh input on their work as well as an opportunity to get out of their studio and collaborate with some other creative minds. Painters who intend on applying to a BFA or MFA program are also welcome.
This session will cover painting a picture while focusing on the main principle of value range. This exercise is helpful for painters as they start work to more fully understand composition in both abstract and representational terms. Students will also benefit from a greater understanding of seeing masses opposed to extemporaneous details which are secondary to the impact of a work of art. This workshop will benefit both the beginning painter as well as those looking for a new spark. Supply list provided upon registration. Registration deadline is May15th, must have a minumum of 6 participants to run class.
