FineArtStore recently attended the Centerfold Origami Convention in Columbus, Ohio. This convention was actually the first ever origami convention in Columbus. Not to mention, FineArtStore's first appearance at an origami convention altogether. Unsure of what to expect, we packed up the van with tons of origami products, papers, and kits...we figured bringing a large selection would be the best way to go.
Upon arrival, we unpacked our products in the vendor's room and ended up taking over an entire table with all the papers we brought. (Oops! Maybe too much!) We were considered a primary vender at the show, but were also joined by a few other fine vendors including the Ogami Paper company.
When the origami enthusiasts arrived for the weekend, we were thrilled to find that they enjoyed the products we had picked out. In fact, we sold out of many of the popular Tant papers within the first day of the convention! We were able to meet a ton of interesting origami artists and learned more about the art itself.
The convention ran all weekend, Friday thru Sunday. We had a wonderful time and ended up heading out around 1pm on Sunday to drive back to Rochester...we were looking at a 6.5 hr drive back. It was a great weekend in Ohio and we found that overall, the convention seemed like a success. We sold some products, met a lot of great characters, and enjoyed learning about origami trends. We can't thank Centerfold enough for inviting us and hope the invitation extends again next year.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the vendor's room!
